Many women in the district make quilts. It is a very satisfying and useful activity. Nothing is better than a quilt as a gift for a new baby or a newly-married couple. Our grandmothers and great-grandmothers created quilts and we continue the tradition. We hope you will revisit these pages as we add photographs of our quilts.
On the right is shown our Breast Cancer Research Quilt which was raffled in 2003 and won by Erma Prince. Numerous women contributed squares for the quilt and many squares have names of women affected by breast cancer, some have survived and others have not. Through the generosity of those who created the quilt and those who bought tickets, we were able to forward $510 to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada to aid research of the disease that affects so many of us. Many thanks to all of you!
